Exercise became an important part of my life when I went overseas to further my education at 17 years old. I would run long distance, participate in high impact aerobics, do pump classes with heavy weights. This would be a daily routine after work for most days of the week. I was only concerned about burning calories and was ignorant about correct posture, good technique and the kind of exercises suitable for my body. As a result, I suffered from recurrent episodes of severe lower back pain.
I am certainly blessed to have found a gym where there is “ALL in ONE”! A gym where one can come for rehabilitation, physiotherapy, lose weight, tone up and to stay healthy! Thank you very much Karen for changing my body for the better! I would recommend FTI to my patients and friends as this is a place where one can exercise “safely” and see positive results.

I was experiencing pain in my right knee, which was aggravated by running. After my 2 pregnancies, I had found running the most effective way to reduce and maintain my weight. I was worried that I would no longer be able to run due to the knee pain. I was encouraged to try out FTI by a patient, who said it had changed her life. I decided to give FTI a try, and I have found significant benefit over the last 4 years that I have been training with Karen.

I stopped exercising and accepted being out of shape as part of growing older.
I started feeling tired all the time and nurtured a recurring backache, which seemed to be a common complaint among my colleagues. Over the next 10 years, I gained about 12 kilograms. Three years ago, things took a sudden downturn during a medical mission trip in Bangladesh. I had been operating for 10 hours when I felt something go ‘pop’ in my back.
Nelson’s meticulous attention to correcting my form and maintaining safety assured me as I grew in both confidence and strength. I began to look forward to each training session as no two sessions involved the same machines, weights and stretchy rope contraptions. Nelson made it a point to keep things interesting and prevent my body from becoming complacent. So far, I have experienced gradual but marked improvements in strength, flexibility, endurance and perhaps coordination. My gait improved and I could perform longer operations without experiencing the same tightness and pain. My friends commented on a visible weight loss and most importantly, there was no more pain.

In Quarter IV/2014 I commenced training at FTI after my wife told me how professional the trainers in this institution are and after I had attended a workshop about release techniques by using FTI’s training balls. Nelson has shown me some exercises which helped me to release my muscles with the use of myofascial release techniques and to strengthen the muscles by both, simple exercises without machines and sophisticated exercises on special machines of FTI’s gym.
